What author(s) do you enjoy reading the most? List your favorite series by them as well.

For me:
S.M. Stirling (The Emberverse I,II)
Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson & The Olympians/The Heroes of Olympus)
James Patterson (Maximum Ride)
L. Ron Hubbard (Battlefield Earth)
Stephen King (The Dark Tower)

I know I'm forgetting some, but I'll add them when I remember them.

If you like Stephen King, you might try some things by author Joe Hill. This is actually Stephen King’s son…..he just started using a pen name because he didn’t want people to go in with the expectations of being the son of an already famous author. Joe Hill has produced some good stuff.

  • His “Heart-Shaped Box” novel is pretty good, I enjoyed that one.

  • Also, his novel “NOS4A2” has a tv show based on it. There’s a comic book mini series that goes along with that novel. It’s called “Wraith: Welcome to Christmasland”. It doesn’t really add anything to the story that goes on in “NOS4A2” in the comic……it just a back story on how the villain came to be.

  • If you like comic books, you could try the “Locke & Key” series by Joe Hill. It’s actually the first thing I read by Joe Hill.

Might have to check him out. I recognize the names of most of those. I saw the trailer for NOS4A2 a good while back, though I never watched the show.

Favorite authors:

  • From the horror genre, I like Joe Hill and Darcy Coates. I’m starting to get into Amy Cross.

  • From the historical fiction genre, I like Madeline Martin.

  • From the mystery genre, I like Francis Duncan and Agatha Christie.

  • From the thriller/suspense genre, Lucy Foley and Shari Lapena.
