Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros.

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Currently three books available: Fourth Wing, Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. There are rumors of there being two more books in the series to come.

I’ve read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I just ordered my copy of Onyx Storm yesterday, as a matter of fact. That won’t be coming out till the 21st of this month so I have to wait a couple of weeks to get my copy.

How did you feel about the ending of Iron Flame?

Do you think she’ll be able to find a cure?

Well, that’ll be something I hope we’ll find out when Onyx Storm is released here in a couple of weeks.

What do you hope she brings to conclusion with this book?

I’m trying to figure out if Violet will become Venin like Xaden or if she’ll figure out a way to fix it so Xaden is no longer Venin. I was kind of expecting to see one or the other in the next book but we’ll have to wait and see……

You really think she would turn herself Venin?

I’m kind of one the fence about this one. She’ll do one or the other. She’ll either try to fix it so that Xaden isn’t one or she’ll end up where she’ll be one the same as Xaden.

Plus, Violet hasn’t discovered her second signet yet or it hasn’t been mentioned yet. I hope we get to see what that second signet is at some point in this next book.

I’m not sure. I haven’t really spent a lot of time thinking about it though.

I’ve wondered more about what will happen with the situation with Xaden……..

1) Will Violet find a way to fix it somehow?

2) Will Violet end up becoming one too?

How do you think it will play into the relationship that she has been building with the dragons?

I’m not really sure. I was wondering how Xaden being a venin now was going to affect his relationship with Sygeal. But I don’t know how this will affect Violet’s relationship with Tairn and Ardarna. I figured Tairn and Ardarna would voice their opinion regarding whether Violet decides to make the change to venin. But I don’t know what part Tairn and Ardarna would play in Violet finding a cure for Xaden.

Yeah, I was wondering the same myself. I know that they have an abnormal relationship to begin with since Violet bonded with not one but two dragons, one of whom was a young hatchling. It will also be interesting to see if Xaden has the same detachment to Sygael as Jack? did to his.

I always thought that Jack had a detachment to his dragon because dragons tended to think that humans were more fragile than they were but Jack thought he was more powerful being a venin than just being a regular human. So I’m figuring that Jack thought this made him more powerful and in Jack’s mind, this made him better than the dragons.

Plus, Jack wouldn’t need a dragon anymore since he is now venin, would he? Jack doesn’t need a dragon anymore to be able to channel any type of magic now that he is venin, would he?

Jack cut into his dragon’s throat, or somewhere near the throat, and was able to keep it a secret from his dragon up until that moment.
