I enjoy disappearing in the universes that the authors create, imagining myself going on the adventures with them.

Same here!

I read for entertainment purposes, however, I also read as a way to relieve stress. Reading is usually the last thing I do before I go to bed. It helps me to wind down from a long day at work because it gets my mind off things.

I like to read for an escape, as you all said, and also to learn things.

I don't tend to read as much now as I used to when I was younger but I always remember when I was younger, I used to read to escape away from the world, it was always my getaway if I'd had a bad day.

This is why I read. It's a way to escape after a long day at work. It allows me to redirect my attention to something else that I find entertaining.

A lot of my reading is about the news or social media stuff. In fact, it's most of it. Do you all feel that's "junk food reading"?

Like anything to get my mind off of something and get lost in a fantasy world.

This is why I read. Besides the entertainment value, it gets my mind off of the stress of the day from working and allows me to focus on something else. It's a bit of a stress reliever for me.

Pretty much, unless you get a paper cut from reading and then not any fun anymore, lol.

That's okay. I've got plenty of e-books on my Kindle so that solves that problem.
