So, what shall we discuss first?

I’m in the process of reading this series. I’ve read the first book but I haven’t completed the rest of it so far.

I know there is suppose to be 2 more books in this series and I know everyone has been waiting for a while for the author to release them.

According to something I’ve read recently, Martin has even hinted that he may not finish the sixth book, let alone the seventh.

Why? Why start a series in the first place if you’re not going to finish it?

Well, we can discuss whether or not it’s morally right or wrong for him to finish and we’ll be here all day.

Whether it’s legally right or wrong is another matter. The only way it would be legally wrong, that I can tell is if he has a contract with the company that publishes his books or has a contract with whoever his agent is to finish the series. It all depends on if they have created any sort of deadline for him to finish each book, however, I feel like that if that were the case then they would have made him finish “The Winds of Winter” by now. And then he could move on to the seventh book and finish out the series and be done with it.

He does have a contract and they did have a deadline. He kept pushing the deadline back.

So……what’s the point of having a contract and having a deadline then? Does he not want to finish the series?

No idea. Could be he just got caught up in writing the scripts for all the shows and other films they had planned.

I won't read the books, I hear they are detail insane, but I do hope he can finish the story.

Detail insane is an understatement. The man goes into literal paragraphs to describe a tower, how food tastes and a person's clothing.

I know a family member said there was a few pages on a fire pit or something, I find that insane.
