Clint Eastwood's most quoted (or misquoted, to be more precise) movie of all-time is finally getting the 4k treatment. Eastwood's acting career is the stuff of legend, appearing in three of the most lauded westerns of all-time in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy, an Oscar winning post-modernist Western, Unforgiven, as well as hits like Escape From Alcatraz and The Outlaw Josey Wales, and that doesn't include his directorial work. But, if there was one shot from a movie that is synonymous with Eastwood's career, and one misquoted line that goes with it, it has to be found in Dirty Harry.

Dirty Harry fans certainly feel lucky this month as the hit 1971 crime thriller is getting a remaster and a re-release. Per Blu-ray.com, Dirty Harry will be remastered in stunning 4K for a new physical release in the future. The announcement did not give a date for Dirty Harry's re-release.

Directed by Don Siegel, the movie stars Eastwood as the titular San Francisco police inspector, Harry Callahan, on the hunt for a mysterious criminal known only as Scorpio. Dirty Harry was the first and the highest rated entry in the film series, which also included Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and The Dead Pool. The official synopsis reads:

"Cop Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) attempts to track down a psychopathic rooftop killer before a kidnapped girl dies. When he is found, Harry abuses the murderer’s civil rights, putting him back on the streets. Once he is released, he hijacks a school bus and Harry must go after him again. The only way to stop this vicious killer is in cold blood."

As well as Dirty Harry, Clint Eastwood's 1985 western, Pale Rider is also getting a 4K re-release. Again, no release date has been announced. Eastwood directed and starred in Pale Rider. The synopsis reads: "A couple and their daughter, along with a few others, are driven out of Lahood, California, by goons working for a mining baron. However, a stranger enters their life to assist them in their fight."
