Why do you read?
That's okay. I've got plenty of e-books on my Kindle so that solves that problem.

Why do you read?
This is why I read. Besides the entertainment value, it gets my mind off of the stress of the day from working and allows me to focus on something else. It's a bit of a stress reliever for me.

Plans for a "snow day"
If we have a snow day here, I normally stay inside and read. I have plenty of literature to read if I get stuck inside.

Do you feel pity for the bad guy/gal?
In the beginning of the series, Draco Malfoy was a spoiled little rich kid who got whatever he wanted. In his second year, he made the quidditch team for Slytherin but only because his father bought new brooms for the entire team. However, later in the series, we find out that he is being tasked with trying to find a way for the Death Eaters to get into Hogwarts and then he has to kill Dumbledore. Some people believe he was only given that task after his father failed at getting the prophesy regarding Harry & Voldemort from the Ministry of Magic. Regarding Umbridge, she's just evil. Yes, Voldemort is pure evil and the real villain of the series. But Umbridge pretended to be a good person when really she was just hiding how horrible she really is.

- Plans for a "snow day"
What do you normally do during inclement weather? What are your plans if there is ever a "snow day"? Do you attempt to make it to work/school or do you not bother?- Do you feel pity for the bad guy/gal?
I'll admit that I didn't feel at little bad for Draco Malfoy at the beginning of the Harry Potter series. I eventually did later on, especially by the events of the final book. I don't feel bad for Umbridge though.- 2025 Reading Challenge/List Thread

Did you see where Hogwarts Legacy II is in development? I was talking with someone else about this earlier today.- Why do you read?
This is why I read. It's a way to escape after a long day at work. It allows me to redirect my attention to something else that I find entertaining.- Does Brain Injury Hurt Reading Ability?
Having a brain injury can hurt a lot of things, not just your ability to read. Some people end up having to re-learn how to walk, talk, chew their food, etc.- John Lithgow has been cast to play Dumbledore in HBO's new Harry Potter TV series
What are your thoughts on this? ConsequenceJohn Lithgow to play Dumbledore in Harry Potter TV seriesJohn Lithgow is set to play Albus Dumbledore in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series.- Doing chores?
I definitely do my cooking and dishes during the week once I get home. But if I have to do something like pick up a prescription for my hubby.....I'd rather do that as soon as I get off work so that I don't have to get out on my day off. If I have to mow the yard, I'd rather do that when I get off so that I don't have to do that on a day off as well.- Summer plans?
Normally, yes. At my previous job, one of the "holidays" you got every year was your birthday. You could take your birthday off and get paid for it. However, you had to request that they give it to you like you do your vacation time. Last year, I only took off my actual birthday and that was it (this is at my current job). This year, I'm going to be off for a full 7 days for my birthday. I've requested the days I want and they've been approved already.- The Official 'It's the weekend and I'm...' Thread
I'm normally working on the weekends so I'm not really enjoying myself come the weekend. My days off are normally during the week (unless I'm on vacation).- Summer plans?
Now, my birthday is in July and I've requested a few days off around my birthday. Even if my husband and I don't go do anything, I'll be happy not having to go to work when my birthday hits......that's my birthday present to myself. Not having to work on my birthday.- Book vs Movie Adaptation
I think there are some books/series that would do better as a tv show rather than a movie. You can do more stuff with a tv show than you can fit into a movie.- Worst job you've ever worked?
I'm normally chained to the registers all day so I can't run off to some other part of the store to de-stress unfortunately. When you're chained to the register, you're the first person they see when they come in and the last person they see on their way out so you get everything. The people on the floor have a 50/50 shot of not dealing with someone. I've heard horror stories about call centers. I even bumped into a lady at the grocery store one day that told me to avoid them at all cost.- Worst job you've ever worked?
I could say the same thing about retail. I've spent nearly 20 years working in retail and let me tell you, you'll definitely wonder about some people. I'll have to agree with you. I've had to clean some public restrooms during my time working in retail. It does make you wonder about some people if that's what they do when they go out in public.- Book vs Movie Adaptation
I think the book version is better at least 99% of the time. Now, my husband doesn't do a whole lot of reading, however, I can usually get him to go see the movie with me (most of the time). So, my husband would probably tell you that the movie is better.- Haunted

Okay, I'm reading "The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick now and I'm on the first chapter still.- Feel guilty for not reading?
I say read what YOU want to read, not what others think you should read. There are different genres out there and different authors out there......surely there's some literary work out there that you want to read that will suit your tastes.- Would you ever stop reading?
I don't foresee myself not reading either. Even if I lost my eyesight, I'd just make the switch over to audiobooks or something like that.- Book store or library?
If I am unsure if I'm going to like a particular book or not, I will visit my local library to check them out. This way, I'm not out any money (and being stuck with the book) if I don't end up liking the book. If I'm really interested in a book, then I go to my local book store. This way, I can purchase the book and not be on any kind of a time limit on reading it. - Plans for a "snow day"
