  3. Rather than make a thread for all of the Star Wars films, it seemed prudent to have one thread to discuss all of them. I've merged the news article I shared into this thread as well. -- 'The Bear's Jeremy Allen White Joins Cast of Next 'Star Wars' Movie Jeremy Allen White joins the Star Wars franchise in a role nobody could have expected. While Jeremy Allen White made a name for himself on the hit television show Shameless, he exploded in popularity thanks to FX on Hulu's The Bear, for which White won the Primetime Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy back to back years in 2023 and 2024. White is next set to star as music icon Bruce Springsteen in Deliver Me from Nowhere, produced by Disney subsidiary 20th Century Studios. White is staying in the Disney family as he will now join a galaxy far, far away in the next Star Wars feature film. Deadline reports that Jeremy Allen White will be voicing Rotta the Hutt in The Mandalorian & Grogu. The news first broke on The Kristian Harloff Show, where Jeff Sneider revealed the news on camera. Rotta the Hutt debuted in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars as the baby son of Jabba the Hutt, who the Separatists kidnapped to frame the Republic and get Jabba to join their cause. The Jedi, including the newly introduced Ahsoka Tano, later saved Rotta. Deadline reports that Rotta the Hutt will play a significant role in the film, yet Lucasfilm has not officially commented on the news. Right now, little information is known about The Mandalorian & Grogu. The only other confirmed cast members are Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian and Sigourney Weaver in a key role. The character of Zeb, who first debuted in Star Wars: Rebels and appeared in live-action for the first time in The Mandalorian Season 3, will also appear in the movie. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau, who created The Mandalorian and is no stranger to blockbuster films, having directed Iron Man, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King. The film's script is written by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who created Rotta for The Clone Wars movies, and it appears that nearly eighteen years later, he is revisiting the character. Source.

    What will humanity become?
  7. We all have those films that no matter how much we try, we just can't stomach to finish, whether it be because of the obscene portrayals of the darker side of humanity or simply because the film turns out to be a dud. What was the last film that happened to you with? For me, it was Maneater (2022). The special effects, the dialogue, just everything was blah. I gave it a fair try and had to stop after about 30 minutes or so.

  10. What's your favorite of the pre-Xerox era of Disney films and why? Traditional animation, also known as cel animation, or hand-drawn animation, is an animation technique where each frame of the film is drawn by hand, and was - until the arrival of computer animation - the dominant form used in cinema.

  18. David Fincher's 'Panic Room' Is Getting Remade... As a TV Movie One of the most claustrophobic movies to ever hit the big screen is about to hit the Brazilian small screen. David Fincher's 2002 thriller, Panic Room, is set to be remade in Brazil with a new cast, director, and an updated take for modern audiences. Brazilian production company Floresta—which is owned by Sony Pictures Television—has announced the development of this remake as its first-ever telefilm (as reported by Variety). The Jodie Foster/Kristen Stewart-led film will find itself reborn under the direction of Gabriela Amaral Almeida, and will star popular Brazilian actress Isis Valverde. It is already in pre-production. "2024 has been a challenging yet generous year for me, full of possibilities, plans, and projects finally getting off the drawing board," Valverde explained in a quote to Variety.
